Chocolate Workshops and Parties

Hendricks of Hythe is a Hythe-based chocolatier specialising in high quality, moulded and truffle chocolates.We also like to have fun...

...and get messy!!!!

Chocs Away - 15.00 per head
After a short introduction, you will pick a novelty mould, one per person, from a wide selection.

We will provide four pots of coloured chocolate to decorate the mould and then take you in to see the tempering machines and fill your creation with the chocolate of your choice.

The filled mould is placed in our fridge whilst you wrap some mini-bars in coloured foils.

At the end, we will give you a bag in which to stash all of the chocolate you have made.


Standard Party - 20.00 per head
The Standard Party will include a short introduction and one novelty mould per person. We will provide four pots of coloured chocolate to decorate the mould and then take you in to see the tempering machines and fill your creation with the chocolate of your choice.

This is followed by a session making 'florentines'. Each of you will be given a piping bag of chocolate with which you can draw any shapes you like on a plastic sheet and then decorate them with mini marshmallows and raisins.

The final stage is to wrap some mini-bars in coloured foils.

At the end, we will give you a bag in which to put all of your chocolate.

If you would like to hold a party or provide you with something more adventurous, contact us to discuss your requirements and we will do all that we can to fulfil them.


Chocolate and Wine Evening - 45.00 per head
At a different level we also run more adult workshops.

The 'Chocolate and Wine Evening' is a light-hearted event focussing on making truffles, florentines and moulded chocolates without too much technical emphasis.

An introduction, with a glass of wine, will take you quickly through the intricacies of chocolate and working with it. After which we get down to the fun part - making it.

Although it may change, we usually start with truffle rolling and then some 'dipping'.

Whilst the truffles chill, you will be given a piping bag of chocolate to create classic florentines, decorated with fruit and nuts.

A short break will allow time enjoy another glass of wine, and dependent upon availability, a wine tasting session.

During the second part, we will enrobe the previously rolled truffles and, time allowing, we will be able to explore other chocolate making methods.

The evening operates in a 'take what you make' fashion and will result in a fairly impressive haul of chocolate for each participant. The evenings usually start at 19:00 and finish between 20:30 and 21:00.


Artisan Workshop - 50.00 per person
The 'Artisan Workshop' is a more serious event focussing on making chocolates and truffles from couverture to the finished product.

An introduction will take you through the science of chocolate and working with it. After which we get down to work.

Although it may change, we usually start with creating truffles and hand-tempering chocolate.

You will use this and our wide selection of moulds to create chocolates and truffles.

The evening operates in a 'take what you make' fashion and will result in a fairly impressive haul of chocolate for each participant. The evenings usually start at 19:00 and finish between 21:00 and 22:00.
